Delicious Breakfast Cereal – Steel Cut Oats

Whether you prefer steel cut oats or another variety, this recipe is completely customizable and guaranteed to make your morning meal a treat. And, with the help of Miriam's Earthen Cookware, you can make this dish even more delicious!
Serves: 1-2 | Cook Time: 15 minutes
Directions:
- Begin by washing the oats in warm water and letting them soak while you gather the other ingredients.
- Warm your Miriam's Earthen Cookware pan over low heat and add a bit of olive oil.
- Toast the slivered almonds and chopped hazelnuts in the pan until they develop a little color and become fragrant.
- Add the chopped date, soaked oats, water, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the pan and stir to combine.
- Cook the oats over medium-low heat for 10 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and add a small amount of butter and a splash of milk to the pan for creaminess.
- Let the heat from the pot continue to cook the oats for 5 more minutes.
- Plate the oats and top with your favorite toppings, such as golden raisins, dried mulberries, plain vegan yogurt, honey, cacao nibs, chocolate granola, or tahini.
